Knowledge Introduction of Two Electric Vehicle Brake Levers

The importance of the brake lever is unquestionable, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is a matter of life and death. Sometimes a sudden brake failure is enough to make people sweat. Today, Jumpo will share with you the most practical maintenance tutorial on brake levers. The function of the brake lever (also called the brake lever) is used for braking. The working principle of the e bike brake levers is to first cut off the driving current output by the controller to stop the motor, and then the wheel is braked and controlled by mechanical devices such as brake pads. At present, there are mainly two types of electric bicycle brake levers: mechanical type and electronic type.

1. Mechanical E-bike brake lever

The mechanical brake lever uses a mechanical switch to output the brake signal. This type of brake lever only needs 2 leads, the red wire is used to output the control signal and the black wire is used to ground. Most of the mechanical brake levers currently used are normally open. When the internal switch is not closed, the potential on the signal output line is high. After this high-level signal is added to the controller, the controller outputs a normal drive. The signal makes the electric bicycle run normally; when the switch of the brake lever is closed, the control line and the ground line are connected, so the potential on the control line becomes low level, after this low level signal is sent to the controller, the controller will no longer output excitation voltage, the motor stops, and brake control is realized.

2. Electronic brake lever for electric vehicle

The electric cycle brake uses a switch-type Hall component to output the brake signal. This type of brake lever requires 3 leads, where the red wire is for 5V power supply, the black wire is for ground, and the blue wire is for signal output. When the control line of the brake lever has no brake signal (low level or high level) output, the controller outputs a normal drive signal to make the electric bicycle run normally; when the control line of the brake lever outputs a brake signal (high level or low level) After the controller stops outputting the excitation voltage, the motor stops working to realize the braking control. The control signal of the electronic brake lever is basically the same as that of the mechanical brake lever, and the brake control is performed when the output is low.

(1) Typical faults: When the brake lever cannot output the brake signal, it will not only cause the fault that the brake cannot be braked, but also cause the fault that the motor does not rotate. The brake lever is also a combination of electrical and mechanical products, so the mechanical cause of failure is higher than the electrical one.

(2) Judgment of good or bad: Whether it is a mechanical brake lever or an electronic brake lever, in the case of good wiring, if the potential of it and the control signal output line cannot change abruptly during the braking operation, it means that the brake lever is damaged.

(3) Restructuring: If the control signals output by the existing E-bike brake lever and the faulty handle are exactly opposite during maintenance, we can restructure by changing the position of the magnetic strip in the steering handle, so that the output control signal is the same as the faulty handle. same. The modification method is the same as the turning handle.
